Role Overview

The Senior Electrical Estimator leads and coordinates estimating efforts on bids for commercial, industrial, and data center projects out of the Houston office. This role owns the estimate from takeoff through final proposal and plays a direct part in winning profitable work for the company.

The estimator works closely with project management and operations on scope, constructability, and labor, and hands awarded projects off with a clean, organized estimate. Medium Voltage estimating experience is a strong advantage for this role.

Core Responsibilities

1. Lead and coordinate estimating efforts on large commercial, industrial, and data center bids
2. Perform accurate, detailed takeoffs and estimates using Accubid and Accubid Live Count
3. Review plans, specifications, and addenda to define scope, identify risks, and clarify exclusions
4. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for gear, lighting, and specialty systems
5. Build complete, competitive bid proposals with clear scope and pricing
6. Partner with project managers and operations on constructability, labor, and schedule
7. Hand off awarded projects to operations with a clean, organized estimate
8. Mentor and support junior estimators

Required Background

1. 8 to 10+ years of electrical estimating experience on large commercial projects
2. Experience estimating commercial, industrial, and/or data center work
3. Working knowledge of Accubid and Accubid Live Count
4. Strong command of electrical construction methods, materials, and the NEC
5. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
7. Able to work on-site in the Houston office
